Vitamin C
What is vitamin C?
Vitamin C helps heal wounds and protects the body from infections, viruses, and damage that naturally occurs when the body turns food into energy.

What happens if I have a deficiency in vitamin C?
Vitamin C deficiency is rare in the United States and Canada. People who get very little vitamin C for many weeks can get a disease called scurvy. Scurvy causes tiredness, swollen gums, small red or purple spots on the skin, joint pain, poor wound healing, and corkscrew hairs.
