What is magnesium?
Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body. Magnesium is found in bone and inside cells of body tissues and organs.

What happens if I have a deficiency in magnesium?
Magnesium deficiency is rarely seen in the US. Symptoms include loss of appetite, nausea, fatigue, and weakness. As magnesium deficiency worsens, numbness, tingling, muscle contractions and cramps, seizures, personality changes, and abnormal heart rhythms may be present.

What happens if I have excess magnesium?
Dietary magnesium does not pose a health risk, however pharmacologic doses of magnesium can promote adverse effects such as diarrhea and abdominal cramping.
