What is potassium?
Potassium, the major intracellular cation in the body is required for normal cellular function.

What happens if I have a deficiency in potassium?
Hypokalemia symptoms include cardiac arrhythmias, muscle weakness, and glucose intolerance. Moderate potassium deficiency symptoms include increased blood pressure, increased salt sensitivity, and increased risk for kidney stones and increased bone turnover.

What happens if I have excess potassium?
Gastrointestinal discomfort has been reported with some forms of potassium supplements, but not with potassium from diet.
