What are calories?
Calories, also known as energy, are required to sustain the body’s various functions, including respiration, circulation and physical work.

What happens if I have a deficiency in calories?
Calorie deficiency can cause dramatic weight loss causing bones to protrude, and skin to become thin, pale, and cold. Severe wasting away of muscle and fat tissue is called cachexia.

What happens if I have excess calories?
The major consequence of consuming excess calories is weight gain.
